Saccharomyces cerevisiae expressing under the GAL promoter either the wild-type rat liver CPT1, mutated rat liver CPT1 or chimeric CPT. CPT1A activity is inhibited by malonyl-CoA, its allosteric inhibitor.
Interest / Relevance: Allow to have isolated mitochondria with wild-type rat liver CPT1 (active and sensitive to malonyl-CoA inhibition) or mutated CPT1 (for example, active but insensitive to malonyl-CoA inhibition). These mitochondria could be used as biological material for screening chemical molecules able to modulate CPT1 activity and malonyl-CoA sensitivity.
